Welcome

If you’re 50 or older and enjoy learning in the company of fun, interesting people, CLIR may be just what you’re looking for. The Center for Learning in Retirement provides educational, cultural and social programs for Bay Area residents 50 or older and has members from six counties.

CLIR was created by the University of California Berkeley Extension, San Francisco in 1973 and offers the best continuing education value in Northern California. If you wonder what a CLIR class looks like click on the Videos tab above and watch a preview of our Zany San Francisco History class. Then check out the Events page for classes that are free and open to the public.

Of course you’ll want to browse our newly redesigned website, learn more about us and consider becoming a member. Please let us know what CLIR is doing that you like, and feel free to share with us your ideas for an even better Lifelong Learning experience. Just go to the Contact Us page where you’ll find an email form.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed to receive the latest announcements and updates directly in your email in-box or on your desktop. This service is absolutely free.
