Travels in Scandinavia
Presented by Pat Tibbs
Friday, October 9, noon to 1:00 pm
425 Market Street, 8th floor, San Francisco
See some historic sites of Sweden, including Stockholm, Malmö, Göteborg, and Alaska. That’s right, Alaska, an island named for our 49th state, is located in the archipelago off the western coast. We’ll visit the Martha’s Vineyard of Sweden, and small historic villages and castles. Then we’ll walk through ancient stone fortresses that protected Sweden from invaders for hundreds of years, and tour a 17th century sailing ship. Finally we’ll visit Denmark, including Copenhagen, Frederikshaven and Skagen – the northernmost town in that country, plus we’ll visit the very northern tip of Denmark where two seas meet.
The program is free and open to the public so bring a friend or relative.
Please call the CLIR office at 415-543-3965 and reserve a seat.
