Old San Francisco Mint

Explore the ‘Granite Lady’ of the Past

Friday, August 13, 2010 @ 1:15 pm
To be held at 50 First Street, Suite 300, San Francisco

Come and hear about the second United States Mint in San Francisco (now known as the “Old Mint”), started in 1874. In 1877, over fifty million dollars in coins were produced and by the 1930’s, one third of the nations gold reserves were stored there.

A guest speaker from the S.F. Museum & Historical Society, will regale us with stories about this 19th century treasure and update us on “The Mint Project”. This new cultural attraction will integrate dynamic exhibits on the history of the region with an interpretive visitor center. Learn about one of the most important National historic Landmark buildings right in our backyard. See you there!

This event is FREE and open to the public. Please come and bring a friend.
